Life is going well so far - Bryce and I moved into our new place! I've never been a big fan of moving. It's always so stressful trying to pack all of the fragile items oh-so-carefully and not breaking anything. But so far everything has made it in safely and we are loving our new neighborhood. Yesterday Bryce and I took a walk around downtown St John's and in the last year it has changed dramatically. There is a brand new organic coffee shop that we are enjoying. There are tons of brand new homes and town homes going up around the area. Cathedral Park (across the street from our house) was full of dogs and families running around and enjoying the fall weather. I would have never thought that I would like living in a town home just because my entire life I envisioned myself working in a garden in the back yard. I pictured my husband hanging up Christmas lights on the garage and kids building snow forts in the front yard. But as time has gone on I realized that I needed someplace very simple and easy to maintain. In reality - I hate yardwork, my husband is perfectly content hanging Christmas lights around the house - and there is a park across the street for those future snowball fights.
The other part about our new home that I am enjoying is all of the light! We lived in an apartment with only 3 windows and now have a place with 14 windows! It's so great having so much light and sunshine filling our rooms. Our kitties are also enjoying how much more room they have to run around in. The thing I'm really looking forward to about our new place is being able to walk everywhere! Bryce and I love running and I actually became a runner while we were going to the University of Portland. I didn't enjoy it for the longest time but when we started running along the bluff which overlooks the city of Portland - I became a big fan and haven't looked back since. I'm so excited to be able to go running on the bluff again - definitely beats running on a treadmill (although I don't mind running in a warm gym vs. super rainy cold weather outside). Also in the area - we are able to walk to a breakfast place, Starbucks, Safeway, the post office, a pizza place, Blockbuster, a dry cleaners, a Hawaiian restaurant (which has yummy Italian sodas in the summer), a gelato place, a Mexican taqueria, and of course........ St. John's Pub. Bryce keeps saying how great it is that only a 5 minute walk away is a date: drinks, dinner and a movie.
Anyways -need to run. Here's a quick playlist of some amazing music I'm listening to right now. I love making playlists at any point in time and always share them with my friends. Check it out!

I am moving to Portland this summer to attend UP's graduate nursing program. When I googled "University of Portland nursing" and "blog", I came across this post.
I've never been to Portland and would love to hear if you have any suggestions for apartments or neighborhoods to take a look at.
Thanks for posting! It makes me even more excited about the big move!
