It's okay - no need to finish a thought sometimes.....

“Im impressed with people who can create new spaces with the right words. I only know one language and sometimes in the middle of a sentence I feel like a foreigner trying to talk because I have word spasms where parts of some words begin to sound peculiar to me and in the middle of saying the word I think ‘Oh this cant be right-this sounds very peculiar, I dont know if I should try to finish this word or try to make ir into something else, because if it comes out good, itll be all right, but if it comes out bad Ill sound retarded…’” ~Andy Warhol, The Philosophy of Andy Warhol

I have a strong affinity for the “…” I think there is something inherently comforting about not finishing the sentence, letting it hang out there for everyone to fill in the blanks themsleves.Similarly, I like an unfinished thougts. Finished thoughts can be packaged up, and prepped for their exit out of your mind and into the external world via blog or the more traditional conversations over beers. Unfinished thoughts just rattle away in your head, gaining and losing clarity and coherence over time. You can return to them at night, mull in the morning and maybe visit them occaisionly while “listening” to a particularly dull conversation. They are random, raw and unpackaged, just waiting for you to transform into structured sentences…
