What are you grateful for?

Thanksgiving has already passed - but I wanted to make note of what I am grateful for. This has been a wonderful year full of surprises but here are the standouts......

- The constant support of my husband

- A brand new job, home and kitten

- New opportunities and new friends

- Old friends I've rediscovered and reconnected with

- Finally finding the courage to face my fear and learn how to swim

- Amazing books - I've come across some amazing books this year. At some point I'm hopefully going to write a review on my favorites

- Finding the time to breathe again

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembered all the things that you are grateful for - be it big or small. I think the most important lesson that I am taking away from this year so far is to believe in the good. There was a point halfway through this year when the stress at my old job and difficult friendships made me wonder if there is any point of believing in the good. I think that one of my greatest weaknesses is my tendency to put people that I find interesting or inspiring up on a pedestal. But this year I was disappointed and even shocked at times by the people I had once "looked up to".

But I'm an optimist. I believe in the promise of tomorrow. I believe in the good. I believe that everyone has some good in their heard - but often times they need to find it within themselves. And I hope that you all believe in the good too. I could have easily become jaded and become cynical and started being wary of others. But that's not how I operate. I believe in the good. And that's never changing.
