Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that 2008 will be full of adventure, fun memories, laughter, challenges, and peace for you. I usually make a ton of resolutions - and I still do. But I'm hoping that 2008 will be a year of growth for me. I'm anticipating that it will be.
I'm back at the University of Portland and working in the School of Nursing. I ended up getting promoted after a month because one of my co-workers decided to pursue a career elsewhere. So starting on Monday I'm going to be the Nursing Program Counselor for all undergraduate and transfer students. It's a big job full of challenges and I'm a little nervous - but mainly excited. It's going to force me to face my anxiety regarding public speaking. In addition to counseling students, I will also have to do several presentations and serve on different panels to provide information about not only the School of Nursing, but about UP as well.
Then Bryce and I are going to be going back to school for our Master's. That's right - we are the eternal students. I'm going to be working towards a Masters of Arts in Communication with a focus on Journalism and possibly Organizational Communications. I've never juggled a full time job with school so I do hope that I will be successful.
What are your plans for 2008? Whatever they may be - approach this year with excitement. It's going to be a good year. I can tell.
