Bryce and I went camping at Champoeg this weekend and we had a wonderful time. Here are some highlights:
- We went Yurt camping for the first time. It was really nice because we didn't have to worry about putting a tent together and then taking it apart. However - I think I would only go Yurt camping in the Fall or Spring time because I imagine that those yurts would get too hot during the summer time.
- There was a group of families that went yurt camping together. Sounds like fun. Really - they just ended up being a huge headache. The kids would run around - screaming at the top of their lungs and the parents would continue to drink beer and ignore them. Never told them to play quietly. Nothing. In fact - as the parents continued to drink more beer - they ended up being louder than the kids at one point. Bryce and I were honestly contemplating knocking this kid off his bike because he kept biking around us screaming, "Mama mia!!!!" Why? I'm not really sure.
- We had a spazzy squirrel AND a scrappy outdoor cat follow us for food - sorry guys. I don't think Doritos and beer fit into your diet.
- Bryce has started reading "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime". I'm so glad that he is finally reading. It is a hilarious book that would have me laughing outloud and forcing my cheeks to hurt. We read a lot of our favorite lines to one another for entertainment.
- All in all - a good start to the camping season. Looking forward to more adventures - Mama mia!
