A sneak peek into my life at work

I just glanced around my office and realized that I probably have the strangest assortment of decorations. But I think that what I enjoy the most are the stories behind the items in my office. Here is just a sneak peek into my life at work.......

  • Pumpkin man - my co-workers and I are currently doing a Secret Encourager thing at work. We each drew a name and for the rest of the school year that person is who you will be secretly encouraging with little notes and simple gifts. Pumpkin man was a gift from my Secret Encourager and he sits on my desk watching over me. :)
  • Silly mug shaped like an owl - a prize from a White Elephant gift exchange last year
  • The book "Never Hit a Jellyfish With a Spade" - One of my old student workers who just left at the end of September got this for me as a going away gift. Before she left I would constantly whine, "What am I going to do without my Sallie????" This book is one of the most entertaining things anyone could read. There are short excerpts in there about how to eat with a knife and fork. How to fully enjoy cake. And then at the very end a new addition - step by step on How to Live Without Sallie. Definitely one of the most unique and sweetest gifts I've ever gotten.
  • A beautiful shell necklace that a student brought back for me from Hawaii as a thank you
  • Antibacterial hand soap that my boss got me. Hmmmm - is this a hint?
  • 2 pictures from my wedding - naturally
  • Gummi food in the shape of Mexican food. Random gift from my friend in the Registrar's Office since I'm always hungry. Doesn't look particularly edible but it's pretty darn funny.
  • 2 month calendar with all the random holidays in the world. For example today is National Mud Pack Day. Celebrate it. Go wild.
  • Miscellaneous funny things from The Office - post cards, a Schrute Buck, and a really cool computerized generation of Dwight.
