End of July re-cap

July has been a fabulously busy month. First my cousin Jon came and paid us a visit for the 4th of July. We had a fun time showing him around Portland and then on the 5th of July Bryce and I went up to Tacoma with Jon to watch the Seattle Mariners game. Here are some fun shots from his weekend visit......

Jon rode the train down so we picked him up at Union Station and got this awesome shot.

Then we went and visited Pittock mansion - it was a gorgeous day and there were tons of people having a picnic up there and taking in the fantastic view of the city.

We took Jon for a walk along the waterfront and got some cool pictures of the bridge.....

The required St. John's bridge/Cathedral park shot :)

Here are the three of us waiting to ride the brand new train over to the Mariners game. Then there are some pictures of us at Safeco.

A couple weeks ago Bryce and I, along with our friends Russell and Rachel, went out to Cougar, WA to spend a weekend at Karl and Noelle's cabin. It was a super fun couples weekend. The six of us relaxed, ate amazing food, drank good wine and beer, played countless amounts of horseshoe and Scattegories. It was an incredibly fun weekend. Here are a couple shots of us on one of the hikes we took - pretty amazing view of Mt. St Helens. :)

I love summer time. It's the best time of year because Bryce and I get to ride our bikes and go play tennis. I'm so grateful that Portland is such an active city because we truly do enjoy biking around town, running down the bluff, and playing tennis up at the Rose Garden.

Our sweet kitty Penny also enjoys all the warm weather. She has really taken to curling up in the sunshine and taking a quick nap.

Painting project 2010 is officially done! I'm so proud of us and all the changes we made. The room I'm most proud of is the bathroom. Not only did we paint, but we replaced the mirrors and light fixtures and hung up an awesome medicine cabinet. Check out the handy man.

Dessert at Papa Haydn in the summer sun - could there be anything better?

And of course - how could I not wrap up my July re-cap without mention of the 2010 World Cup Soccer Champions? VIVA ESPANA!!! I had such a blast watching the games with our friends the Dunns (who by the way always host themed parties) but Spain winning it all really was the icing on the cake. After spending 6 magical months in the splendid country of Spain I have a strong connection to it for a variety of reasons. I can't even express the number of times I screamed "Vamos Espana!" until they won. I hope that your summer is treating you well and that you are enjoying this weather as much as I am.
