What have I been up to?

Just a quick update on the things going on lately......

I just finished up my summer school class and am now enjoying my official summer break until class starts up again in the Fall. I took Organizational Communication and Collaboration for Sustainability. It was a phenomenal course focuses on learning how to identify the many different stakeholders involved in decision making and how to get them involved. The other fantastic part of the class was that it was focused specifically on creating a sustainable future which I absolutely loved. My classmates were amazing and we all grew very close after 6 intense weeks together.

My co-workers and I threw a bridal shower for our former student worker Christa who is getting married in August. Bryce and I will be going and taking along with us my friend Stevie for the very long road trip. Christa is getting married in Sacramento and I am super excited for her. She is incredibly happy and is entering an exciting point in her life - not only is she getting married in August, but she will also be starting law school as well! I couldn't be more proud of her!

I just turned 28 and have a feeling that this is going to be a fantastic year. I loved 27 and am looking forward to what the next year will bring. I've had a wonderful birthday month so far. I've gotten a chance to spend time with friends and family and have also had the chance to have some alone time between running and reading outside. My hopes for the next year are to exercise a lot, do more yoga, eat healthy, try to lighten my footprint on the earth, take the time to read for pleasure at least an hour a day, and to continue to do well in school.

I had a super fun slumber party with my friends Erica and Christy. We spent the night at Christy's house and made cupcakes and smoothies, made friendship bracelets, face painted, watched movies, and just had a blast laughing and sharing stories. I remember how much I used to love slumber parties growing up and I was so excited to be able to have 2 slumber parties in the last month. They've each been a ton of fun!

We've been watching a lot of World Cup Soccer - particularly with our soccer pals the Dunns. We watch UP Women's soccer games with them during the year and so it only seems right that we watch World Cup soccer with them. They are a lot of fun because they are amazing cooks and for every game they always have a theme. For example, when we watched the USA vs. England game we had a tea party with scones and cucumber sandwiches. Delicious!

And now the most exciting part of what has been going on..... Bryce and I have a new niece (Aven) who is absolutely adorable and we are both completely in love with her. Here are some pics of the sweet little babe......
