My week in review

This has been a crazy, insanely busy, but fun week. Here's just a quick review of the fun I've had:

Monday: Bryce and I got together with Kat and PR for dinner. Every since they moved out to Hillsboro we see them every couple of months. We had some chicken fettucine, wine and watched the Playoff games together. Kat also brought over the bridesmaid dress I'm wearing to her wedding. It's very pretty, black, knee length and simple. I'm grateful because it will actually be a dress that I can wear again. If you've seen 27 Dresses in the movie it was very funny because at every single wedding Katherine Heigl's character says, "Oh yes, you could always shorten the dress and wear it again." I don't know who would ever shorten a turqoise dress to wear again, but I know I can definitely reuse the black one I got.

Tuesday: Free cone day at Ben and Jerry's! Yes - we joined the block winding around the block to get a free scoop of ice cream. Afterwards Bryce and I picked up the appropriate makings to have a true Black and Tan (Harp and Guiness combo) to have with dinner on Friday. Then we went shopping at Express for some summer clothes. I'm having a difficult time shopping due to the fact that everything is neon colored and 80's style lately. Now don't get me wrong - I love the 80's. I just don't want to dress like somebody from the 80's.

Wednesday: The School of Nursing had a BBQ for the graduating seniors and it was a lot of fun. The faculty got up and danced to YMCA except they re-wrote the lyrics about how it's fun to be a Young Nurse at UP. YMCA/YNUP was hysterical. Then the seniors got an opportunity to roast the faculty. They got creative this year and rewrote the lyrics to "American Pie". It was very funny and impressive how creative they were. Brilliant!

Thursday: First Thursday in the Pearl District! Bryce and I went out with our friends Karl and Noelle, got to sip wine, eat yummy snacks (including mini-cupcakes!) for free and look at art. It was a gorgeous night and it seemed like the entire city of Portland was out and about. Afterwards we followed a marching band down the streets of the Pearl and participated in an impromptu dance party. Well, Noelle and I did. The guys weren't too enthused at the idea of a dance off.

Friday: Last day of the week. We are laying low tonight with pizza, beer and a Lost marathon. Tomorrow I'm working at the pinning ceremony for the nursing students. Then Bryce and I are going out to dinner and a movie. This week has completely flown by and so now I leave you with a few things that helped make this week a little easier:
  • Running - as the weather gets better I find it easier and easier to motivate myself to go out for a quick jog
  • Music by Beirut, Yael Naim and Missy Higgins
  • My new SIGG waterbottle (with the words THINK GREEN on it as a constant reminder) and Chaco sandals
  • Creme brulee creamer in my coffee - DELISH
