A quest.....

I'm currently reading a book called "The Know It-All - One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smarted Person in the World." It's about a guy who decides to read the entire series of the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Sounds like a great idea right? Who doesn't want to learn that dwarfs in fact have prominent buttocks? That fact could come in handy should you ever find yourself on Jeopardy.

I'm enjoying the book immensely because he brings such humor to each of the facts that he learns. The novel basically becomes an abridged copy of the Britannica - highlighting AJ Jacob's favorite entries from the Encyclopedia, as well as allowing the reader small glimpses into his life at the same time.

If you get a chance - definitely check this book out. There are not very many books out there that will make me laugh out loud - but this one does. So check it out. I now leave you with just a little sample of "The Know It All"..........

elf

Not the cute creatures we've been spoon-fed by the media. Elves in traditional folklore sat on people's chests while they slept to give them bad dreams. They also stole human children and substituted deformed fairy children. Wonder if Santa is really a crack dealer.

fowl

Technically, the term "duck" should be used only for a female. The proper term for a male duck is "drake." So Daffy Duck's true daffiness: gender identity disorder.

Glyndwr

A district in Wales. Please buy a vowel.
